After walking across the bridge, I walked across downtown to Darling Harbour, a harbor area with lots of cafes and restaurants, an aquarium, an IMAX theater, a convention center, a maritime museum, and lots of places to just sit next to the water and relax or people-watch or whatever. Since it was near noon on a weekday, there were quite a few business people around having lunch. The black-and-yellow checkered building is the IMAX theater. I was really psyched when I saw a film about horses listed as showing, but unfortunately I had already missed it that day, and from a quick check on the web it doesn't seem to be playing anywhere in the U.S. This was an interesting fountain in front of the convention center. One of the arms of the spiral didn't have water running down it, so you could walk down to the center of the fountain. Good old sea gulls... |
