Here are some pictures taken with my new camera outfit. My old camera (Nikon N2020 with old Tamron 28-200 zoom) was having focusing problems, so I decided to upgrade. After doing a lot of research on the N80 and Elan 7, I bought the Canon Elan 7 with a Canon 28-105 USM II f/3.5-4.5 zoom, Canon 100-300 f/5.6 L zoom, and Canon 420EX flash. I'm very happy with all of it. The camera has tons of features, is incredibly easy to use, and is extremely quiet. The 28-105 USM focusing is amazingly fast and accurate. The 100-300 is super sharp. And the flash gives terrific exposures using fully automatic E-TTL metering. Unfortunately, many of the scanned images below don't do justice to the sharpness and bright colors of the original photos, but you get the idea.
Pictures of Isako's cat:
(after one roll of trial-and-error I realized I had to take
pictures of her looking not quite directly at the camera or I'd get a nasty
green-eye effect)
Miscellaneous pictures at home:
(Nick is very difficult to take pictures of since he's all black
-- this is about the best I can do, as you can see the flash did an admirable
job of illuminating his body but the background got totally washed out)
